Nutrition Tips for Digestive Issues

Watch this video on ways to improve gut health. Listen to one of our digestive disorder dietitians talk about three ways that you can help improve your digestive symptoms.

We are here for you

You might not know what role a dietitian can help in your gut health.  When it comes to managing your pain that is associated with eating, we’re the most important addition to your healthcare team.

A typical appointment begins with getting to know each other. We’ll review your medical history and symptoms, discuss your current diet and lifestyle, and listen to your health goals. It’s important to understand you as a whole to determine the next best step to improving your digestive health, whether it would be food sensitivity testing, low FODMAP diet, stool test, SIBO testing, or simply keeping a food log to identify patterns. It’s not uncommon to proceed with more than one intervention at the start!

A diet-first approach is the best way to intervene and restore all bodily symptoms, and only after that will your dietitian use supplementations such as probiotics, digestive enzymes, multivitamins etc.

Each person is unique, and there is no one size fits all diet to address gut-health. We’ll use follow-up visits to review your symptoms and assess your progress, helping you navigate dietary changes and meal prep along the way.
