Eating Disorder Dietitian in Maryland

Hi, I’m Angie, a registered dietitian in Maryland!

From an early age, I learned how to make a handful of traditional Greek foods. It did not take long for me to become a foodie girly, excited to explore foods from all different cultures.

At some point along the way, I struggled with my own relationship with food. The evidence-based research I learned in dietetics school allowed me to utilize that knowledge to shift my mindset, seek support and become a foodie again.

Since then, I’ve become extremely passionate about helping others see that food is not something that is deserved, but a necessity for living. It is so important to allow yourself to enjoy and have fun with food because all foods hold purpose.

"Enjoy the whimsy. Nutrition can include creativity, curiosity, and joy."

All about Angie's
nutrition approach

I show up for my clients by providing a safe space for them to share successes and challenges, while offering therapeutic support when discussing food challenges. I also provide education on different skills, tools, knowledge and modalities—sometimes getting creative with food with my pediatric clients and often thinking outside the box for tough situations.

I strive to show up for my clients daily to help them overcome overwhelming food noise, body image concerns, sensory sensitivities, barriers to eating due to neurodivergent traits, trauma around food and more. I strive to provide a warm, welcoming and inclusive, HAES-aligned safe space, so my clients feel comfortable sharing their challenges and wins filter-free.

I bring both professional expertise and my own lived experience to our session. Although every experience is different, I understand what it can feel like to face the struggles of recovery. I have an empathetic approach and strive to listen intently, not just about challenges, barriers or successes, but also about how you are feeling throughout our sessions and what specific pieces you find supportive or unsupportive. I want to get to know who my clients are beyond the reasons they seek my help.

What does a first session look like?

Your first session is a one-hour intake appointment focused on getting to know each other. We’ll talk about your medical, nutrition, and exercise history, along with your current challenges, experiences, and goals. This is also your opportunity to ask questions about nutrition counseling, my approach, or anything else you’d like to know before we get started.

If you are comfortable, I would love to get to know you as a person, as this helps me to intricately develop your own individualized care and recommendations.
