More About Shelley

Shelley is proud to be a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and an associate at RBA since 2001. She serves as Chief Dietitian. Shelley focuses on root causes of symptoms and current health status. She is able to create a “roadmap to wellness” with each client that focuses on gaining health by taking small, realistic steps. Shelley strives to have her clients feeling better when they leave her office than when they entered. She understands the investment of time and the emotional vulnerability clients are making to face their current health status, and meets each person where they are, helping them make small steps toward a positive outcome.

Shelley is originally from Richmond, VA., and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics with a minor in Psychology from Virginia Tech. She completed her dietetic internship at Meredith College. In her spare time, Shelley may be found at the beach finding seashells, cooking delicious foods, playing in the garden, walking outdoors, enjoying a Broadway show or concert.  Shelley treasures her family, friends and clients.

Shelley uses custom bloodwork to determine your nutrition and supplemental needs. She uses diagnostic testing for cardio-metabolic blood work and SpectraCell for vitamin and mineral status.  Shelley only recommends products she uses and trusts for nutrition supplements. Shelley also offers medical nutrition weight loss, utilizing meal replacements.

Happy Clients

“Shelley was the guide given to me to lead me on my path to wellness. Her approach was multidimensional and reached all facets of my thought processes. For me, these types of technical discussions helped me better understand how to achieve greater results through the actions I would need to be taking.”
“With Shelley’s guidance and leadership, I was able to put my wellness plan on steroids. Visualizing and implementing the science and practice of wellness, in three months I was able to get my A1C down.”
“Shelley is not just my dietitian; she has become a great friend that I can confide in.  I value her opinions and advice. She is a great listener and an all-around wonderful person.”
“I am happy with Shelley and my overall experience with the practice. I actually referred a friend to Shelley earlier today.”
“Shelley is fun, compassionate, empathetic, and a great listener. We agreed on one task in order to avoid overwhelm. I felt very much at home, and very well understood. Thank you!
”
“Shelly was awesome and very informative. Can’t wait for our next meeting.”
“I made an immediate connection with Shelley. She is warm and reassuring.”
“She was interested in my blood test results to get a more thorough understanding of my health, in addition to diet. I expected a dietitian to be focused on diet and did not realize the need for a holistic view”
“I felt instantly at ease. You took the time to really listen to my case, view my bloodwork, listen to my lifestyle, work, & eating/drinking  habits.”
“Shelley listened to me. So many people in my life have judged me before hearing my story. If I had more people in my life who listened rather than judged (medical professionals included), I probably would have a better handle on the challenges I experience in my life.”
